The wholse staircase will use a maximum of 6.7 watts when displaying white, about 10% of a 60w light bulb. So low that it could be left running without running up a high electricity bill.

If left running on white for 24 hours a day 7 days a week the CoolFusion would cost £9.83 for the entire year or just 19 pence per week! That is assuming you are paying the 16p per KWH (Kilo Watt Hour). If left on a colour sweep it would cost around £6 for the year.

To put that into perspective a traditional 50w Halogen projector would cost £73.37 not including the cost of replacing the bulbs every several hundred hours, and then there is the noisey fan and colour wheel.

The CoolFusion does not need lamps to be replaced, has no colour wheel or fan. It is completely maintenance free.
