Designed to fit into existing MR16 installations these MR16 LED Lamps replace standard MR16 Halogens with a diameter of 50mm. Replaces Halogens between 20-35 Watts.
We have compared these lamps (with a light meter) side by side to 20w Halogens and the light given off by them is greater than that of 20w Halogens. 20w Halogen measured at a distance of 1 Meter - 255 Lux 6w LED measured at a distance of 1 Meter - 495 Lux The ambient light for the above test before the lights were switched on was 15 Lux. Below is a photo showing the difference between a 20w Halogen MR16 and the 6w LED MR16. The Halogen is on the LEFT side of the photo, the bright LED is on the RIGHT.
They use a mere 6 watts so you can expect to reduce the amount of energy (by approx. 70%) consumed by replacing your Halogen MR16s with these LED versions. The transformer you have fitted with your existing Halogens should also be replaced as they have a minimum load, otherwise flickering or flashing may result.
