Flexible LED Tape (v4) - Low voltage Light Strip

Close up of the LED Tape

Flexible LED Tape (version 4) is one of the most streamline LED Light sources currently available. It is basically a low voltage (12vdc) flexible light strip that can be cut to length.

LED Tape is ideal for a multitude of purposes where fluorescent or halogen lights would be too bulky and consume too much power.

Our LED Tape is professional grade, it is completely encased in Silicone and Resin making it Splashproof and very durable. It is suitable for various lighting applications in the home.

LED Tape used for plinth lightng Kitchen Cabinets

This is the latest version (3) and uses branded 3 Chip LEDs for a 50% brighter light than our previous version.

The LEDs produce a 140 degree wash of light which will create an unbroken light if the LED Tape is at least 2-3 inches away from the surface the light is being projected onto.

The LED Tape is encased in Resin and Silicone making it durable, wipeable, and splashproof.

The tape is very thin with a depth of just 4mm. It has a 3M self-adhesive backing so is easily applied to most smooth surfaces by simply removing the backing paper. Additional Silicone Clips are included for extra holding.

Ideal for: Shelf Lighting including edge lighting glass shelves, sign lighting, back lighting, contour lighting, lighting architraves, cupboard and cabinet lighting, door frames, edge lighting for steps, lighting for under kitchen cabinets, cupboards etc.

The picture below shows how thin the LED Tape actually is.

The Tape is just 2mm thick

The LEDs produce a wide 120 -140 degree glow which gives a reflected glow similar to that of neon from nearby surfaces and objects. There are no dots or hotspots of light given by the LEDs.

Safe low voltage - 12vdc, very energy efficient just 6-7 watts per Meter.

The LED Tape is connected to the power at one end only.

The tape can be cut or joined, connections and cutting points are at 3 LED (100mm) intervals. Off-cuts can be connected and used elsewhere!

Various lengths and colours of the LED Tape can be linked together, with no more than 6 Meters in any one run. For longer runs each length should be parallel wired back to a Power Supply of suitable capacity, continous unbroken light can be created this way.

Full instructions are included.

Lengths from 500mm to 6 Meters are stocked.

More information about LED Colour, and Units of Measurement

Triple chip LEDs are available in White, Warm White, Blue, Red, Green, Yellow, Amber, Pink, Purple, RGB (Red, Green, and Blue), Ultra-Violet (UV), and Infra-Red (IR).

The White Warm White colours are measured in colour temperature known as Kelvins (K). If the K value for the LED Tape is low around 3500k the white will appear to be warmer. As the Kelvins value increases the white will appear colder. For general home lighting the colour temperature for the LEDs is usually 3000-6500k. Any lower than this and the light will shift towards the yellow/orange end of the light spectrum, if it is high towards the 9000K range it will appear more blue.

If you want the LED Tape to look similar to halogens that you may already have fitted then the Warm White may be the best option. Warm White also looks better suited where there is a lot of natural wood or earthy and beige colours.

If you want a clean white for an ultra modern look the White (6500K) would be the most suitable option.

Halogen Colour Temperature: Approx. 2800 - 3400K

Indandescent Light Bulbs are from 2700-3000K

Fluorescent lamps tend to be around 5500K.

"Hi Litewave.

I recently purchased some of your flatstrip Led's to light the working surfacs in my modest kitchen. I am so thrilled with the result i had to share the pics I took this week with you. Also shown is an experimental blue strip literaly 'blue-tacked' to my sideboard as an atmosphere light !! WOW I shall be looking at more of your interesting products for future
projects.

Best wishes Mike O.    (retired electonics engineer)"
