Flexible LED Tape

Flexible LED Tape is one of the most streamline LED Light sources currently available. A multi-purpose waterproof product for use virtually anywhere.

The tape is extremely thin with a depth of just 2mm. It has a 3M self-adhesive backing so is easily applied to most smooth surfaces by simply removing the backing paper.

Ideal for: Shelf Lighting including edge lighting glass shelves, sign lighting, back lighting, gauge lighting, bumper inserts, dashboard / speedo lighting, running lights, rear lights, side lights, indicators. Contour lighting, lighting architraves, cupboard and cabinet lighting etc.

The LEDs used in the tape are SMT LEDs like the ones uses to backlight the screens of the latest Mobile Phones and MP4 Players. The entire circuit of LEDs is encapsulated in resin for a completely waterproof seal.

Suitable for use in cars, on bikes, in the home around architraves, around door frames, edge lighting for steps, lighting for under kitchen cabinets, cupboards etc.

Safe low voltage - 12vdc, very energy efficient just 2.4 watts per 500mm length

The LEDs produce a wide 120 degree glow which gives a reflected glow similar to that of neon from nearby surfaces and objects. There are not dots or hotspots.

The tape can be cut or joined, connections and cutting points are at 3 LED (50mm) intervals. Full instructions are included.

Colours available: Blue, Green, Red, Amber, Yellow, White(6500K), and Warm White (3500k)

"Thanks – I’ve now received the LED tape. What a great product – I’ve used ½ of it to backlight the speedo of my Mini Clubman and it looks the business. The other half will be used to provide under dash courtesy lighting.

I’ve attached a few photos of the speedo with the LED lights in place. I’ve taken the speedo out of the standard PCB and mounted it independently in my dashboard. This meant that I could no longer use the standard dash lights. The LED tape was a perfect solution to this because I was able to stick a strip around the inside of speedo gauge before reassembling – it’s easy to cut to length and wire into the lighting circuit and the effect of the LEDs is fantastic.

As a bonus I have some of the tape remaining which I intend to use as courtesy lighting.
