Glow Wire is 2.3 mm thick and provides 360° of illumination. It is totally flexible, and can be cut to any length and the cuttings can be re-used. It is safe and gives off no heat. It is regularly used for special effects in movies such as Batman & Star Trek.

The kit consists of Glow Wire and a portable battery inverter (batteries included). Ideal for lighting up sci-fi models, bikes, jackets, hats, musical instruments, costumes, dance suits, etc. Glow Wire does not get warm or hot, it is cool to the touch!

The 4 x AAA batteries will last around 20 hours if the Glow Wire is left switched on constantly, for intermittent use the batteries will last around 30-40 hours . The batteries can be replaced when they run down.

If you don't want to keep replacing the batteries simply plug-in a 6v mains adaptor (like those used for personal stereos) into the built-in socket on the inverter. They are available from us for £7, selectable below.

The batteries are housed safely inside the inverter case which has a built in belt clip. The inverter can be set to constant or to variable flash mode, there is a speed adjustment control allowing the flash rate to be increased or decreased.

The X Periment kit is available in 10 vivid colours: Lime, Marine, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Pink, White, Purple, and Orange

Our Glow Wire kits are O.E.M from Israel, non toxic and environmentally benign, assembled here in the U.K to high standards. They should not to be confused with the low quality Chinese imports.
